JKSSB Constable recruitment 2024: The Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) is expected to release the notification for the recruitment of multiple posts in the Jammu and Kashmir Police. On Tuesday, the Jammu and Kashmir Home Department referred 4,022 constable vacancies to the JKSSB. The posts being advertised are expected to strengthen the ranks of constables in the police force who work at the forefront of counter-insurgency operations in the region.
News agency PTI quoted an official spokesperson saying, “This will greatly help in reinforcing the capability of law enforcement to effectively address various security challenges and maintain peace and order.”
The recruitment of constables in the Jammu and Kashmir Police was last advertised in 2019. According to the official quoted by PTI, Jammu and Kashmir Police faced challenges due to a shortage of manpower, primarily stemming from the lack of recruitment at the constable level. This shortage has impacted operational readiness and the efficiency of service delivery mechanisms.
The Services Selection Board (SSB) will soon conduct the recruitment process for aspiring candidates who applied, according to the spokesperson. “This initiative will not only contribute towards enhancing the overall security apparatus of Jammu and Kashmir but also create employment opportunities for the local youth,” he further added.
